Just follow the YHOY links from https://yhoy.horticulture.org.uk Competitors can also find us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram social media platforms. There are prizes at each level of the competition, including the prestigious Percy Thrower Trust Bursary of £2500 for the overall winner!!

We can confirm, provisionally, that the Grand Final will be at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh’s Logan Botanic Gardens, near Stranraer in Dumfries and Galloway on September 4th 2021 – visit www.rbge.org.uk for more details of the garden. This beautiful garden, with a climate strongly influenced by the Gulf Stream, has an incredible plant collection for us all to see and enjoy.

We are very privileged to have the continued support of the Shropshire Horticultural Society / Percy Thrower Trust as our main sponsors, and Bord Bia that supports the competition in Ireland. For 2021 we also have Adrian Stockdale, current Editor of the ‘Plant Names Simplified’ reference book, first published in 1931 and a favourite of many generations of horticultural students and practitioners ever since. Adrian will be providing a copy of the book for each of the eight Regional Final winners.

There are also a large number of other Regional sponsors that help to make the competition worthwhile for all concerned.
