After two months of heats at venues across the UK and Ireland we are delighted to announce the dates and venues of the Young Horticulturalist of the Year regional finals.

Contestants will be asked a wide range of horticultural questions, some through buzzer round, and others directed to individuals. There are also two identification rounds to further test the depth and breadth of knowledge. The regional  final awards 1st place with £150, 2nd place receives £100 and 3rd place £75.

The winner of each regional final progresses on to the Grand Final at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew on Saturday 11 May and the opportunity to win part of a £5000 prize fund including the Percy Thrower Travel Bursary.

 

Wednesday 13 March – Scottish Finals are being held at the National Trust for Scotland Pollok House.

Wednesday 13 March – West Midlands & South Wales Finals are being held at Pershore College.

Thursday 14 March – Ireland Finals are being held at National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin.

Saturday 23 March – Northern Finals are being held at Thorp Perrow Arboretum.

Saturday 23 March – Eastern Finals are being held at Writtle University College.

Saturday 30 March – South West Final are being held at Reed Hall at University of Exeter.

Tuesday 2 April – South East Final are being held at Merrist Wood College.

Wednesday 3 April – North West & North Wales Final are being held at the Myerscough College.
