The CIH Northern Branch held a Bench Grafting Workshop on Saturday March 7th that was suitable for both beginners and those who hadn’t grafted for a while and was held at The University of York. Led by experienced grafters Mike Hirst and Harry Stevens (formerly of East Malling Research). Participants learned basic techniques of whip and tongue grafting of fruit trees. Participants were able to take away 3 potted grafts of their own making. We provided all materials, including a selection of scion wood, but participants were welcome to bring their own scion material if they wished.
