DEFRA will engage in discussions with industry groups and trade bodies to explore in more detail the design of industry led funding options in future. Horticulture and Potato sectors will remain in scope of the AHDB Order so that any parts of these sectors can continue to work with the AHDB if they wish to on a voluntary levy or commercial basis.
Emergency Authorisations (EAs) and Extensions of Authorisation for Minor Use (EAMUs) of pesticides is very important to the horticulture industry. Transitional solution AHDB will use funding from reserves to deliver the EA/EAMU application service and associated trials and research up until April 2023. DEFRA will work closely with industry led groups and trade bodies to put in place an agreed approach for longer term industry led funding for this service to continue after April 2023.
