The Horticulture and Landscaping Trailblazer Group are pleased to announce that the Horticulture and Landscaping Technical Manager apprenticeship (England) is now available for starts.  This apprenticeship is level five (foundation degree difficulty) and suitable for those in gardening, grounds maintenance or landscaping who manage horticultural sites.  Content includes management of horticultural operations and technical skills plus more generic business, project and people management.

Commenting on the announcement, Andrew Griffiths, Operations Manager at idverde said ‘Staff able to proactively manage and improve horticultural sites can be difficult to find and this apprenticeship will provide an accessible course of training that will develop staff into these roles.  It was a pleasure to work collaboratively with people from so many different aspects of horticulture to design this apprenticeship and we are really excited about seeing the first apprentices start this course.’

Can you help write the tests?

Open Awards will be developing the end test from September, and they need writers and assessors.  If you are interested in applying more information can be found here.  If you want to know more about what being a writer or assessor entails, an information event will be held online for an hour at 10.00 on the 14th June.  To attend please complete the registration form here.

This sounds interesting, how do I find out more?

We are also inviting employers who might be interested in the apprenticeship to an information event.  The meeting will be online for one hour from 10.00 am on the 4th July and answer the questions:

  • What will the apprentice learn?
  • How do I get started?

To register for the meeting please complete the form here.

We look forward to telling you about this exciting new apprenticeship which will provide a work-based route into senior technical horticultural and entry level management position.
