Join the finalists of the Young Horticulturist of the Year in the stunning surroundings of Kew Gardens.  Watch and cheer them on as they compete for the £2,500 Percy Thrower Travel Bursary and life changing horticultural travel anyway in the world.

After heats and regional finals, held in colleges, botanic gardens and stately homes across the UK and Ireland this year’s hundreds of entrants have been whittled down to the final eight. Congratulations to Owen Harlow, Leo Walsh, Emily Marston, Ben Clansey, Mark Matthews, Frances Porter, Richard Moore and Sally Newbrook.

Following the competition and lunch there will be a tour of the recently restored Temperate House – the world’s largest Victorian glasshouse.  It is home to 1,500 temperate species from five continents and 16 islands including some of the world’s rarest and most threatened temperate plants. Discover more about Kew and the temperate House here (opens an external link).
