Greenjjam Nurseries, Evesham – in the morning

GreenJJam was set up in 2008 in the Vale of Evesham, Worcestershire. Now located on the outskirts of Upton Upon Severn in Worcestershire, our nursery sells a wide range of cottage garden plants, as well as some shrubs, alpines and herbs.

“We are a specialist grower of Penstemon, and in recent years have built up an impressive collection of unusual and interesting penstemon varieties. Our new venture is the White Nursery, where we specialise in growing white flowering or white enhancing plants.

Almost all the plants that we sell are propagated and grown on site by ourselves, although occasionally we source from local specialist nurseries to offer the best range of stock for our customers.

We have, for many years, exhibited at RHS shows, and are proud holders of several RHS Gold Medals, including GOLD at Chelsea Flower Show 2021.”

The Picton Garden, Malvern – in the afternoon

Old Court Nurseries are a small family run plant nursery nestled on the lower slopes of the Malvern Hills, specialising in Michaelmas daisies since 1906 and are holders of the Plant Heritage National Collection of over 430 varieties which are displayed in the charming 1.5-acre Picton Garden.

Winding paths take you round The Picton Garden which is full of unusual plants with something different around every corner. In late winter the star of the show is our collection of snowdrops accompanied by our Plant Heritage National Collection of Polypodiums, a wonderful genus of ferns. Later the heritage Narcissus and gorgeous Alliums take over. As summer advances the herbaceous plants really start to shine and autumn is the time for the Michaelmas daisies. All of which is complemented by a select collection of trees and shrubs.

“Many of the plants seen in the garden can be purchased from the nursery. Almost everything is grown on site and we are proud to use the peat free Melcourt Sylvamix as our growing media.”
