The Scotland Branch will be holding a visit to Portrack on Thursday 29th September, to tour the Garden of Cosmic Speculation. Meeting at the garden for 10am, the visit is open to members, and members family and friends.
The garden was created by landscape designer Charles Jenks, inspired by science and mathematics, with sculptures and landscaping on themes such as black holes and fractals, he was also was the co-founder of the Maggie’s Centres with his wife, Maggie Keswick Jencks, who died of cancer in 1995, himself dying of cancer in 2019.
This is a private garden that ONLY opens once day a year for 5 hours under the Scotland’s Garden Scheme, as you can imagine this is a very busy event, and to get the chance to arrange a trip without the crowds is an exclusive opportunity.
Portrack require each person to read it fully and complete this disclaimer , unfortunately the document cannot be completed digitally without inserting text boxes, therefore we are asking you to print it and it bring it with you on the day. In addition to this the £15 donation will require to be paid in cash on the day, both donation and form will be collected by either Victoria or another committee member and passed to Portrack. Unfortunately, we will be unable to allow admission without both.
We would encourage people to car share, if this is something you might be able to offer or would like to see if someone might be able to help, please email Victoria on scotland@horticulture.org.uk who will assist in putting people in touch.
