Autumn Webinar Series – Wellbeing in the Garden

Corinne Price MCIHort

The Shuttleworth Trust’s Swiss Garden launched its first wellbeing activities in 2018 and has since built up a regular programme of events which include yoga, tai chi, sound baths, all of which take place outdoors, along with mindfulness and essential oils workshops.  These activities have proved to be popular with regular visitors to the garden, and staff are also collaborating with a local social prescribing team to ensure that the events reach those who are most in need of their therapeutic value.  The garden has established itself as a local provider of wellbeing activities, helped by its location in rural Bedfordshire and its naturally tranquil setting.

About Corinne Price MCIHort

Corinne trained in the parks and green spaces of Cardiff City Council before securing a gardening post with the National Trust in Wales.  Her role as Upper Gardens Manager for English Heritage at Wrest Park in Bedfordshire involved being part of a major restoration project and mentoring thirteen garden apprentices over four years.  For the last six years, Corinne has been Garden Manager at the Shuttleworth Trust’s Swiss Garden, is a committee member for Bedfordshire Gardens Trust and launched the Bedfordshire Head Gardeners Network in 2018.
