Consultation on Biodiversity net gain for nationally significant infrastructure (England)

DEFRA have opened a consultation on Biodiversity net gain for nationally significant infrastructure projects in England.  The government is proposing introducing BNG for nationally significant infrastructure projects from May 2026 to provide a clear framework for new major infrastructure developments to leave biodiversity in a measurably better state than before development.  The deadline for this 24^th July.
