We are pleased to invite members and non members to our upcoming Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) Special Interest Group network meeting. This event will take place on Monday, 5th February at 6.00pm via Zoom.
We have 3 speakers, all of whom were involved in a recent evaluation of Green Social Prescribing (GSP) at the government backed ‘test and learn’ site in Humberside and North Yorkshire.
Peter Coventry was the lead investigator and is Professor of Environment and Health at the Department of Health Sciences, University of York where he leads a programme of work with a focus on the mental health benefits of nature-based interventions.
Silvana Devine and Hayley Watson are social and therapeutic horticulture practitioners, who were part of the Greater Manchester GSP Pilot.
Silvana is health and wellbeing service lead at Petrus, a charity supporting people at risk of, or experiencing homelessness.
Hayley runs the business ‘Get up and Grow’, an STH social enterprise.
