Following years of development and work by the trailblazer group to get this standard up and running, the first cohort for the L5 Horticulture and Landscaping Technical Manager are enrolled at the university of Lincoln. Calling employers and potential students, consider enrolling your management staff on this important apprenticeship programme next year.
The Level 5 Horticulture and Landscaping Technical Manager programme provides a comprehensive, practice-led development journey designed to build technical, operational and leadership capability within horticultural and landscaping contexts. The programme covers key areas including plant science and environmental factors, biosecurity and legislative compliance, research and surveying techniques, site and plant management, operational planning and procurement, design and heritage considerations, people management, sustainability and climate adaptation, and project and business planning.
Learners apply this knowledge through a structured portfolio, culminating in the development of an integrated site management plan and business case, supported by coaching and preparation for End Point Assessment.
Enrolments for the 2027 cohort will open later this year, with the programme scheduled to start in late January/early February 2027. Contact OAS@lincoln.ac.uk for more details.
