The Chartered Institute of Horticulture seeks to appoint a Development Officer who is passionate about raising the profile of Professional Horticulture. The successful candidate must provide a first class service to members, provide direction to the secretariat, deliver the Institutes policies to allied organisations and Government and, develop a framework of examinations and training for members.

We are looking for an effective communicator, administrator and ambassador for professional Horticulture, to support the work of Chartered Institute of Horticulture in raising the profile of Horticulture in the UK and Ireland.

You’ll drive our membership offering; working with our committees, branches and our dedicated secretariat to formalise our continuing professional development and chartership schemes.

You’ll be actively involved in driving membership at all levels; from our free student membership offering to the promotion of Chartership which recognises Horticulturists at the peak of their careers.

You’ll be the face of the Chartered Institute at industry events, trade shows and meetings representing the interests of our members.

As a highly effective communicator you’ll work with our committees to deliver an excellent online presence including our website, e-newsletter and social media output. You’ll also contribute to our print journal The Horticulturist.

This role is home-based and will require travel within the UK and Ireland. This role is offered on a full-time basis however, applications from suitable candidates on a part-time, job-share or flexible working basis would also be considered.
