Join the Northern heat winners of the Young Horticulturist of the Year in the grand surroundings of Thorp Perrow Arboretum. Watch and cheer them on as they compete for a place in the Grand Final and a chance to win the £2,500 Percy Thrower Travel Bursary.

Thorp Perrow Arboretum, this year’s venue for the regional final, boasts the largest collection of shrubs and trees in the North of England. Find out more about the Thorp Perrow Arboretum here (opens external link).

The contestants will be asked a wide range of horticultural questions, some through buzzer round, and others directed to individuals. There are also two identification rounds to further test the depth and breadth of knowledge. The regional final awards 1st place with £150, 2nd place receives £100 and 3rd place £75.  The winner progresses on to the Grand Final at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew on Saturday 11 May.
