For our 8 contestants the final of the YHOY competition is the chance to impress family friends and tutors and, with any luck, win an amazing £2,500 to travel anywhere in the world. The competition will take place at the University Centre Shrewsbury

The competition kicked off in January with over 60 heats taking place all over the country. Those successful in their heats then progressed on to the regional finals of which there were eight challenging competitions testing knowledge of anything from plant identification to pesticides and pruning techniques.

For contestants and guests staying until Sunday a visit has been arranged to the beautiful Hodnet Hall Gardens

*Please note competitors have complimentary ticket and guests can pay the normal admission charge of £7.00 payable on the day.
