Join the South West heat winners of the Young Horticulturist of the Year in the stuuning surroundings of Reed Hall at University of Exeter. Watch and cheer them on as they compete for a place in the Grand Final and a chance to win the £2,500 Percy Thrower Travel Bursary.

This year’s venue for the south west regional final is a stunning grade II listed building, nestled in 300 acres of landscaped gardens, part of the University of Exeter. Find out more about Reed Hall here (opens an external link)

The contestants will be asked a wide range of horticultural questions, some through buzzer round, and others directed to individuals. There are also two identification rounds to further test the depth and breadth of knowledge. The regional final awards 1st place with £150, 2nd place receives £100 and 3rd place £75.  The winner progresses on to the Grand Final at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew on Saturday 11 May.
