Delfland Nurseries is a leading commercial organic propagator with 20 years of registration with the Soil Association as young plant raisers. A family business owned and run by husband and wife team John Overvoorde and Jill Vaughan. Customers include some of the biggest vegetable producers in the UK as well as domestic consumers who buy very small quantities via their online shop (www.organicplants.co.uk).
With 3 hectares of glass heated by biomass boiler, Delfland are able to produce up to 40 million plants a year, both conventionally and organically including glasshouse crops (tomatoes, etc.), leeks, onions, celery, brassicas, salads and herbs. They champion the use of peat-free growing media for vegetable transplants and use an integrated pest management system in their production.

Over the last 28 years Chapel Cottage have established themselves as one of the largest and most well-known perennial growers in the UK. Starting from a small 1 acre site back in 1989, and now have over 40 acres of land under production.
Producing close to 4.5 million 1L pots per year with a range of over 900 varieties, to a customer portfolio of over 1500 independent garden centre’s along with a number of the UK’s larger garden retail chains and multiple stores.
With recent investment in new production facilities allowing them to increase in-house production of seed and cutting raised plants to over 3.5 million every year Chapel Cottage have significantly reduced dependency on young plant suppliers.
