A unique opportunity to explore the production facilities of peat free growing media producer Melcourt before an afternoon visit to Prince Charles’s organic farm at Highgrove.

Melcourt is a leading supplier of mulches, growing media, play surfaces, soil improvers, and more, based on bark, wood and other natural materials. Since it’s inception more than 35 years ago, Melcourt has developed a strong R&D ethos allowing the company to develop market-leading peat-free products that are used by many of the UK’s leading nurseries and gardens. The Duchy Home Farm is part of the estate of Highgrove House, the country home of Charles, Prince of Wales. In 1985, when it was still a relatively new concept, His Royal Highness decided to convert the farm into a completely organic system.Today, it is not only a successful and viable working farm, but a flagship for the benefits of an organic, sustainable form of agriculture.
