MATURE STUDENTS

An increasing number of people are choosing horticulture as a second career. Colleges and universities welcome mature students. Entry qualifications may be varied for such students according to previous qualifications and/or experience obtained.

When thinking about the possibilities of a career change, some may consider learning about horticultural fundamentals by part-time and open learning methods. It is possible to learn about plants and to master drawing skills in the comfort of one's own home. Correspondence courses do work year round and can be started at any time of the year both in the UK and world-wide.
