(Qualification
recognised, with 3 years' post-study experience, for Corporate Membership
of the Institute of Horticulture.)
The Kew Diploma offers a broad-based
salaried training in amenity horticulture. The aim of the course is to
provide students with an opportunity to study at first degree level in
scientific, technical and managerial subjects, whilst gaining practical
experience and responsibility working in paid studentship positions at
the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
Students should normally have
obtained 4 GCSE passes and 2 GCE "A" Levels, preferably in science
subjects. They must also have had two years' practical horticultural experience.
Candidates with less formal qualifications, but with more practical work
experience, will also be considered.
