promote the Profession of Horticulture

To act
as an authoritative body for the purpose of consultation with Government
and other policy making bodies on matters of interest and concern
to professional Horticulturists.

To confer
status upon professionally qualified and experienced Horticulturists.

To promote
educational and training opportunities and encourage the development
of all disciplines within Horticulture, and to co-operate with other
bodies on matters of common concern.

To disseminate
information on matters affecting the profession, and to provide opportunities
for discussion amongst Horticulturists through publications, conferences,
seminars, lectures and other appropriate media.

To promote
the important part that Horticulture plays in food production, improving
the environment and supporting one of the main leisure pursuits -
gardening.

To undertake
other activities consistent with the above aims.
